Booking Appointments
Appointments made at Ashford Avenue Family Practice can either be face to face or via telehealth. We will be offering video calls via HotDoc as our preferred medium of telehealth. Due to Medicare regulations, telehealth can only be offered to patients who have had a consultation at the practice in the last 12 months. Appointments can be made online via our website or via the HotDoc app on your smartphone. If you prefer to talk to someone, you can ring our friendly receptionist on 02 9774 3388. A standard consultation is between 10-15 minutes depending on the doctor you see. If there are more than 2 issues to discuss, we recommend boooking a long consutlation. Please advise our receptionist when booking. While we are not accepting walk in bookings, we do have "On the Day" appointments and those deemed as urgent by our triage team. Home Visits
Currently, home visits are only available to long term patients in exceptional circumstances when it is safe to do so and it is up to the doctor's discretion.

Cancellation Policy
Not attending your appointment or cancelling with less than 2 hours notice before your scheduled appointment will disrupt the availability of doctors to other patients. If you cannot attend your appointment, please call 02 9774 3388 to cancel or rebook your appointment otherwise a cancellation fee of $30 will be charged.
No further appointments can be made until the cancellation fee has been paid.

Results of Tests and Procedures
At Ashford Avenue Family Practice, when investigations such as scans and blood tests are ordered, it is expected the patient make a follow up appointment (telehealth or face to face) to review the results. This ensures both the doctor and the patient to dicsuss the result and allows the doctor to carry out further management as required.

Recall and Reminders
Occasionally, a significant abnormal result will be flagged by our practice. The initates a recall pathway which may involve sending you an SMS text, phone call and at times registered letters to ensure you make an appointment to dicsuss this abnormal result.
Our practice also aims to provide preventantive care to our patients. This means we have an active reminder system which you may choose to agree to. This system involves contacting you via SMS with regards to preventative care measures which are due including cervical screening tests and immunisaton. If you do not wish to be a part of this system, please advise your doctor or reception.

Standard appointments with Dr Susan Sunwoo, Dr David Le, Dr Janice Tan, Dr Olivia Missiakos and Dr Rhea Gu whether it is face to face or telehealth, will be charged a private fee. These rates will also apply to those on OSHC. This will apply to recall appointments, telephone consultations, prescription renewals and referrals.
Note
a. Dr Susan Sunwoo and Dr David Le: Standard weekday consultations will incur a private fee for children who do not hold a health care card. Standard consultations for pensioners and health care card holders will continue to be bulk billed.
b. Dr Janice Tan, Dr Olivia Missiakos and Dr Rhea Gu: Standard consultations for children under 16, pensioners and health care card holders will continue to be bulk billed.
All patients who are eligibile for GP Management Plans, Reviews and Health Assessments will continue to be bulk billed by all doctors.
Specialised appointments such as GP Mental Health Plans, procedures and insurance forms for example will private billed. Both reception staff and the clinical team will inform you if an out of pocket charge will be incurred. For further information please refer to our Schedule of Fees. Those on OSHC (Overseas Health Cover) will be charged an out of pocket fee.
We accept only direct debit or credit card payment (card surchages will apply.)

We are located opposite the Milperra Reserve on the corner of Ashford Avenue and Bullecourt Avenue. From Ashford Avenue, you will need to walk past Milperra Medical Centre (which is not us) and Milperra Post Office. You have arrived at the right place when you see our logo on the big grey wall adjacent to the carpark.
There is street parking as well as limited customer parking in the parking lot.
