Drug Testing
Ashford Avenue Family Practice is an acceditted drug testing site. This means our drug collection process meets the current standards for 1. AS/NZS 4308-2008 - Urine Drug Screen 2. AS/NZS 4760-2019 - Oral Fluid. Drugs that are tested onsite include Amphetamines, Methamphetamines, Cocaine, Marijuana, Opiates and Benzodiazepines. Should a result reveal a "non negative" result, this specimen will be sent to the lab for confirmatory testing and reviewed by Dr David Le who is a qualified MRO (Medical Review Officer). |
The Process
1. The employer will need to book an appointment for a "Drug Screen"
Remind the worker to bring their photo ID.
2. Arrive 10 minutes earlier to fill out registration forms
3. No food, eating or smoking 10 minutes prior.
4. Consultation with the collector which includes providing a specimen
5. Results are given instantly. Should a "non - negative" result occurs, the specimen is then sent off to a laboratory under the Chain of Custody for confirmatory testing.
