Information for Non Medicare Card Holders from January 1 2019.
From 1st January 2019, all non Medicare card holders will be charged a private fee when they see their doctor. This will affect those with overseas health cover (OSHC).
If you hold Allianz, Bupa or Medibank Private and AHM OSHC, you will only pay the gap when you see the doctor. The current out of pocket cost for your consultation will be $15.
If you are with any other insurance company, besides the above listed health providers, you will be required to pay the full private fee at the time of the consult. An invoice will then be given to you to allow you to claim back the rebate from your insurance company.
